The flower’s name is Timmy!

I’m just kidding. The flower is called Celosia (like ‘sell oh see ya!’).

The common name, the answer I was looking for, is “Cocks comb.”

A male chicken is known as a “cockerel” or simply a “cock.” That funky thing on top of the chicken’s head is called a “comb.”

This is what the flowers will look like when they’re grown. Do they look like a cock’s comb to you?

Also, in the video I said the potatoes were going to to like they were painted – here is what they looked like this afternoon!

This is kaolin clay – the same stuff used for making fancy masks. The clay confuses some pests and annoys others, so they stay away from the potatoes.
