Folks, when dealing with slugs and snails I strongly encourage you to save time and money by using science.

Use Sluggo. Do NOT use Sluggo Plus which has spinosad, as that can harm a variety of other insects.

Also, eggshells don’t work.

And copper doesn’t work.

Last but not least, used coffee grounds don’t do anything either.

Sluggo, however, has been shown to work in studies and reviews by extension services. It is also OMRI approved, if you want your insecticide to be certified organic.

There are also of course beer traps, but I’ve never found them particularly effective.
